Once I started this book I couldn't put it down (but that's normal for me). Sue Monk Kidd is an amazing writer. I even cried at a few points during the book. But when it ended I felt very dissatisfied. The whole idea of needing to cheat on your husband in order to find yourself just didn't sit well with me. In my opinion, the character just didn't have enough consequences for that. The book was an easy, interesting read, but just doesn't list high on my all time favorites. Not something that I will probably read again.

I am a reader

That used to be something I tried to hide. I read under the bed covers, hid my book under the desk during class, and would hide behind the couch during sad parts of books so that I wouldn't get interrupted while crying. I am proud to be a reader now and I am trying to make a better effort to keep track of what I read, what I like about the books I read, and to have discussions about books I love. My journaling is not always profound, but it's a start. Connecting with other readers is the best and I would love to get your comments, questions, and suggestions!
